18.11.2025<\/strong> – Dat Jon Wolfert jingles maakt, is algemeen bekend bij onze lezers. Maar dat de baas van jinglebedrijf JAM Creative Productions ook wel eens iets in de koorbusiness deed is minder bekend. Al gaat het hier maar om een klusje bij wijze van vriendendienst. Het gaat om het nummer No Place but Texas, opgenomen door het koor met de naam Vocal Majority uit jinglestad Dallas. We schreven daar al eerder over<\/a>, Vocal Majority is het koor van jinglezanger Jim Clancy (overleden op 16 april van dit jaar). Het nummer kwam in 1986 op single uit ter gelegenheid van de viering van het 150-jarig bestaan \u200b\u200bvan Texas.

Het lied werd op 1 januari 1986 ten gehore brachten in de Cotton Bowl Parade in het centrum van Dallas. De zangstijl is typerend voor de koorklank en stijl van barbershopzang in de jaren ’80, een zangstijl waaruit oorspronkelijk ook de jingles zijn voortgekomen. En wie deed de techniek voor het nummer op de B-kant? Precies: Jon Wolfert. En de editing was van Nick Alexander, de zoon van jinglezanger Dan Alexander. Ach, Dallas is eigenlijk \u00e9\u00e9n groot dorp. Of beter: een hechte gemeenschap.
