De jingles maakten de zender tot een superster toen dat nog kon met radio. En toen WLS nog een muziekzender was (ook WLS is overgegaan naar een talk-format, dat gebeurde zonder enige aankondiging op 23 augustus 1989 om 07.59 uur van het ene op de andere uur). De jingles waren te horen tussen elke plaat door, zelfs in de reclameblokken werden ze geperst. Voormalig jingleproducent en historicus Ken R. Deutsch heeft een mooie uitleg gegeven over de historie van de WLS-jingles, die je <a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/www.wlshistory.com\/new\/jingles.htm');\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.wlshistory.com\/new\/jingles.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hier kunt lezen<\/a>. Z\u00e9\u00e9r de moeite waard.
