En in het gebouw aan het Laapersveld in Hilversum doet totaal niets meer denken aan het wit-blauwe onderkomen dat Veronica er in de jaren tachtig zo zelfbewust had betrokken. Het is nu een bedrijfsverzamelgebouw met succesvolle tech-bedrijfjes (de eerste witte Porsche staat er al voor de deur). Ook KINK zit er, in de kelder, directeur Jan Hoogesteijn sprong een gat in de lucht toen hij hoorde dat het gebouw waar KINK de studio had, goeddeels leeg stond. Een terugkeer naar het oude nest? Dat was alvast een mooi begin voor het station dat op 1 februari als een Phoenix uit de as was herrezen. Veronica&#8217;s Radio 3 studio was er boven de deur, een prominente plek in een organisatie die de radio nadrukkelijk op de eerste plaats wilde zetten. &#8216;Show &#8216;em where you come from&#8221;, stond er opschepperig op de muur. Die ruimte is er nog gewoon en heeft dezelfde afmeting gehouden, alleen de deur is verplaatst, maar dat is alles. De architect maakte er een vergaderkamer in grondkleuren van. Toch wordt de heilige grond in dit XL verzamelgebouw gekoesterd.
