De titel: Wonderful town. Deze citysong was misschien niet evengoed verkocht als de Home Town Song, maar muzikaal z\u00e9ker zo goed.<br \/>\nHet is 1960. Euel Box schrijft voor PAMS in Dallas een aantal citysongs, liedjes die dienen als stadspromotie en die vaak op plaat werd uitgebracht om weg te geven aan luisteraars en de trotse burgemeester. We kennen er twee&#8221;I had a ball in&#8230; (naam van de stad) en Home Town Song. De tekst ervan stond grotendeels vast, maar kon volgens het gekende principe van syndication per stad en per radiostation worden aangepast. Het bleek een klapper. En dus kreeg de meesterschrijver Tom Merriman (links op de foto) van jingleproducent Richard H. Ullman de opdracht ook een citysong te schrijven. Merriman was net weggekocht bij concurrent CRC. In het voorjaar van 1962 was het product klaar, het kreeg de titel Wonderful town mee.<br \/>\nTalloze stations bleken ge\u00efnteresseerd, en aldus kregen bijvoorbeeld WHDH in Boston (de 1e), WDAK in Columbus, 7HO in Hobart, KCK-TV in Canada en stations in Halifax, Kalamazoo en Des Moines hun eigen versie. Plaat 2 kant A opent met Wonderful town voor de stad Hobart in Tasmania en zijn station 7HO. Rechts op de foto zie je trouwens top-DJ Richard Moore van Radio 7HO, een foto genomen in 1971.\u00a0Hobart is de hoofdstad van de Australische deelstaat Tasmani\u00eb. De havenstad is gelegen aan de zuidoostkust van het eiland en is na Sydney de oudste van het land.<br \/>\nDe citysong maakte onderdeel van een pakket getiteld New Adventure. Deze bevat 16 jingles. Hier kun je hier een deel horen van <a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/soundcloud.com\/jingleweb\/tom-merriman-wonderful-town-voor-radio-7ho-in-hobart-tasmania');\"  href=\"https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/jingleweb\/tom-merriman-wonderful-town-voor-radio-7ho-in-hobart-tasmania\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">de demo<\/a> die daarover is gemaakt.
