In de VS staat het woord &#8216;jingle&#8217; voor een commercial. Radiojingles heten er station-ID&#8217;s. In 1943 maakten ze ook radio-ID-jingles voor WJZ in New York (voorloper van WABC&#8217;), voor zover bekend de oudste jingles ter wereld. Het legde hen geen windeieren en de roem was groot, in het nummer van Life van 16 december 1946 werden ze\u00a0 King of jingles genoemd. Johnson ging zich later Ginger Johnson noemen, want de Amerikanen (hijzelf was een Brit) hadden moeite met zoveel naam voor \u00e9\u00e9n man. Ze poseerden als Engelse Lords voor de fotograaf van Life.
