De eerste zeezender van Europa kwam op 2 augustus 1958 in de lucht en maakte de volle portie ellende mee: mastbreuken, strandingen, ijsgang (want ze lagen in de Sont tussen Denemarken en Zweden, bij de plek waar nu de grote brug ligt). Jongensboekenkost kortom. Na The Ship That Rocked (van algemene signatuur) en 3 Mile Limit (over Radio Hauraki in New Zealand) is het Deense piratenverhaal tot een film uitgewerkt, een serie zelfs. Leuk gedaan, met veel oog voor detail, zie het <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/www.avm.dk\/artikel\/visartikel.php?artikelnummer=7029');\"  href=\"http:\/\/www.avm.dk\/artikel\/visartikel.php?artikelnummer=7029\">HIER<\/a><\/span>. Natuurlijk wordt de belangstelling er weer behoorlijk door gevoed, er \u00a0is een Mercur tentoonstelling gekomen in het <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/www.radiomuseum.dk\/');\"  href=\"http:\/\/www.radiomuseum.dk\/\">Ringsted Museum<\/a><\/span> en oud medewerkers zijn op zoek gegaan naar foto&#8217;s van vroeger, we laten er alvast een paar zien op Jingleweb en nog heel veel meer staat <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/danskradio.dk\/radiomercur.html');\"  href=\"https:\/\/danskradio.dk\/radiomercur.html\">HIER<\/a><\/span>. UIteraard willen we op deze plek ook weer graag wijzen op de eerste tune van de zeezenders, wel <em>sort of,<\/em> gemaakt door Ib Glindemann voor Radio Mercur, die trouwens nog steeds voor een orkest staat.
