Met een nummer dat erg lijkt op de klassieker Watermelon Man van Herbie Hancock. En ja hoor, het<em> is<\/em> ook Watermelon Man van de Count. Lees alvast mee wat er te melden valt over Condor:<\/p>\n<p><b>Count Basie &#8211; Watermelon<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><b>man<\/b>\u00a0(Verve\/1965), gebruikt in zenderpromo voor Radio Condor op 270m.\u00a0Amateuristisch brekebeentje onder de piraten: op 30 juli 1973 verankerd voor de kust, op 10 augustus de territoriale wateren alweer ingespoeld, nog n\u00e9t niet bij de eerste de beste vloed dus. In de herfst van datzelfde jaar wilde deze vage, idealistische piraat het voor de tweede maal proberen.\u00a0 Maar ook nu rustte er geen enkel heil op deze missie van Steph Willemsen, die in Haarlem een zaak in radio- en televisietoestellen had gehad. Het lukte hem domweg niet om de zender met het vermogen van 250 watt (ter sterkte van een gloeilamp, een straalkacheltje en een strijkijzer samen) blijvend in de lucht te krijgen.
