De melodie is (we citeren Quest) goed te onthouden voor kinderen, maar hoe het een plaagdeuntje werd, is onbekend. De oorspronkelijke tekst gaat niet over plagen, maar over een gezin dat voor een baby zorgt. in Nederland wordt de melodie zowel met als zonder tekst gebruikt. “Je kan me toch niet pakken” is de tekstversie van de deun. Op internet circuleren diverse versies van het druilerige deuntje. Wij plagen onze lezers met deze versie<\/a>.
