Martijn vertelt ook dat in eerste instantie John Ewbank was gevraagd om de tune te schrijven van The Voice of Holland. Maar uiteindelijk leverde dat niet het gewenste resultaat op. Ewbank is goed in het schrijven 3:20, ik heb er 18 jaar over gedaan om 20 seconden te kunnen schrijven, zegt Schimmer daarover. Na een gesprek met John de Mol (5 minuten in de agenda, het werden er 15) bleek dat de basis niet van het Marco Borsato-nummer <em>Binnen<\/em> moest komen, maar meer <em>Ik leef niet meer voor jou<\/em>.
